Elite Studio Session-188Erica Lemma is an award winning studio owner and choreographer of Brooklyn’s EDC. Beginning her dance education at the age of 9, she is trained in Pointe, Tap, Jazz and Lyrical.

She began teaching dance at the age of 13 and from there knew this is what she had to do with the rest of her life. Erica is not only a successful business owner but she is also an English teacher. Erica holds Master Degrees in both Education and English and has taught grades varying from 3rd to 12th.

Janelle Jonna originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, has been dancing and performing since the age of 4. She has studied various styles of dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe,, Hawaiian/Tahitian, and Belly Dance. In 2008 Janelle moved NYC to attended Marymount Manhattan College where she received a B.S. in business management with concentrations in Arts and Media Management and Investments and Finance. She currently works with Dragonfly Productions as assistant director/performer. She has worked for Broadway Dance Center as a Summer Intensive Counselor, teacher assistant for the Children and Teen’s Program, and as crewmember for the Pulse. She has studied with Chris Hale and Calen Kurka in the :pushing progress Contemporary Training Program and Jean Gloria Newell, president of the Cecchetti Council of America, holding her Grade VI certification. Performance credits include Sex and the City 2, International Dance Festival NYC, Detroit Pistons preshow, Peridance APAP, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not New Year’s Eve Party. Janelle aims not only to teach dance but also instill self-confidence, discipline, and creativity in her students.


Joanna Joana Salvatore started dancing at the age of 7. She has also taken artistic and rhythmic gymnastic classes at Nova Gymnastics. During her fifth year, she was asked to be part of their national competition team. Joana decided to follow her true passion and continue with her dance career.

Joana has been trained in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Pointe and Ballet. Four years ago she became part of theBrooklyn’s EDC Family.  Joana is not only the friendly face of our reception area, but she is also a current member of their Platinum award winning competition team.


Justin Velez  is not only an award winning choreographer and Co-Director, he is currently our HipHop and Breakdancing teacher and choreographer, but he is also our music mixologist. After attended LaGuardia Community College to obtain a degree in Music Recording Technology and finished up his degree at The Institute of Audio Research, he began competing for Brooklyn’s EDC in 2013. He is responsible for all of our dance team’s music. Justin also started dancing in 2009. His strongest styles are Breaking and Hip Hop but is known more for his own style of Lyrical Breaking, which is using slower and emotional pieces of music to incorporate his dynamic breaking ability. Justin is a member of one of Brooklyn’s most well-known Bboy crews, “The Foot Clan”, which was established in 1998 where he became a member of in January of 2013. He has also been apart of LaGuardia Community College’s dance crew, “Equation Crew”, from 2010-2011 before graduating. During Justin’s time he has performed for many organizations, schools, and his community such as MOVE, BCAT, The Brooklyn Museum, LaGuardiaCC, Brooklyn College, and neighborhood events and fairs.
